Cucumber-like, exotic vegetable.
Decorative climbing plant, which grows up to 3 m high. Requires binding. Top cut at a height of 1.5-2 metres. Side shoots are pinched off after 2-3 leaves. Produces numerous small, egg-shaped, green-striped, 2 cm long mini-fruits, which have a deliciously fresh, sour taste. Suitable as a snack, in salads or pickled. Place in a sunny position in nutritious, warm soil in a sheltered location or in a greenhouse. Lose the fruits when they are ripe. After sowing, the soil is kept moist until germination is well under way.
